Dancin' at the B-Ball game
I dunno what it is about me and doin' choreo in a week's notice, but I like it! =D

This was done at a few home basketball games at NYU over the past couple weeks. Last home games of the season, baby! The other team members have had plenty of opportunity to perform over the past handful of months. 'Twas time to strut my stuff! =D

Hahaha - They always come to me and say "and you have X beats to improv" and it always happened that I did an FC skit with some material I could use! ;)

Thankiethanks! Well attribute the good choreo to the dance team - they came up with most of it for me. I just improv'ed some parts to be less Dance Team and more Bobcat flair. =D

Aw, but the fox is fairly cute too. You gotta give at least some props for actually having a freakin' fox mascot. :)

Great choreography - how much do you have to rely on your vision in suit?

In costume, the vision is limited to through the mesh eyes and a bit through the mouth. I've learned to compensate for that by the way I move and perform, so I feel like I have a fine range of vision (or a very good sense of perception of what's around me).

For dancing this choreo, all I had to know were my spots, and that was all relative to the center line, and all the girls move to their spots. So as long as I saw where I was around the center line, I knew where I was supposed to be.

In other routines, such as the one I did with the cheer team at NCA nationals, I'd needed to know a bit more than just be around center, and I needed to make sure I knew where the cheerleaders were and whatnot while still at a fast pace. I've grown very accustomed to how the suit's vision is, though, so I fared fine, especially with practice.

Oh, hot! You did well. I can't tell what mascot you're wearing though. What is it? Part of it's the distance the video was shot at, I think...and my blind eyes :)
