Awesome Orlando Weekend!
October 2007
In the Orlando airport as I'm writing this, and looking back on this extended weekend vacation, I had an absolute blast!
Thank you, Herbie, for being an awesome host and for showing Jimmy Wolf and me such amazing hospitality! KP and Yappy and others, thanks for also throwing in a helping hand to make our visit run smoothly and to have great fun! And to everyone else that was involved (the list is quite long!), thanks for showing me a great time! =)
Can't wait to come back!
October 2007
In the Orlando airport as I'm writing this, and looking back on this extended weekend vacation, I had an absolute blast!
Thursday, Jimmy Wolf and I arrived close to midnight, and Herbie was there to pick us up and to take us back to his lovely abode, where we stayed for the duration of our trip. An immeasurable amount of gratitude goes out to him - thank you for everything you did for us!
On Friday, despite some inclement weather throughout the day, Jimmy Wolf and I checked out the Lion King show and the Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom, followed by a short trip to MGM where we got to draw Mickey's portrait at the animation station attraction. Following that, we made our way to West Side's Wolfgang Puck, where we joined the surprise birthday party dinner for KP, where Panda flew down and got dressed as our server and surprised KP while he took our drink orders. Happy Birthday withses also go out to Lisel, too!
On Saturday, we joined KP, Panda, J-Pop, Yappy, and Herbie (for a lil) for Epcot's Food & Wine Festival, which was a huge blast! I almost made it drinking around the world, and hopefully I can try again at some point! It was great to have fun and walk around the world showcase with everyone! Unfortunately, I missed the "chill and hang out" gathering afterwards in Herbie's 'cuz I made a beeline for the bed in Herbie's guest room and was asleep until about the time when eveyrone was leaving. But the day all in all was still a ton of fun!
On Sunday, Jimmy Wolf and I visited Epcot a bit more to explore the Future World area, and then headed over to MGM again to see the Indiana Jones stunt show and also rode on Star Tours and the Tower of Terror before we got ready to head out for the Funday Pawpet Show! That was a blast - I'm sure youtube footage will soon be up (if it's not up already). Definitely a really fun night - and I definitely would want to do it again!
On Monday (today), our last day, we spent a short visit at MGM where we watched the Lights, Motors, Action stunt show, and then made our way to Magic Kingdom, where we enjoyed PhilharMagic, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain. After which, we left the parks to meet up with Yappy to cart us to the airport. Thanks!
